Technological advancement and climate transition are megatrends that will affect the business world more than anything else in the coming decades. When Rebecka Carlsson, sustainability entrepreneur and author, comes to AS Forum, she provides you with a crash course in sustainable development and the more exciting opportunities that arise when climate transition and exponential technologies intersect.

Rebecka Carlsson has co-founded several sustainability companies and worked as a policy advisor to Sweden's Minister for Climate and the Environment and Deputy Prime Minister, notably during the negotiations of the Paris Agreement. She is educated in exponential technologies at Singularity University at NASA and in social entrepreneurship at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Additionally, she is a partner at ARC – Arise Consulting and the author of the books "Exponential Climate Transition" and "Sustainable Business Canvas."

Mary leads the corporate organization responsible for driving Lenovo’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and Regulatory Compliance programs. Her role allows her to advance projects that combine her technical interests with her passion for ESG. Mary is most proud of the work she has supported to promote meaningful and lasting change, such as setting and meeting ambitious climate change mitigation goals, supporting the transition to a circular economy through the use of post-consumer recycled content in Lenovo products and packaging, ensuring robust regulatory compliance programs, and mentoring the next generation of technical talent.

Mary began her career as an engineer with IBM’s Corporate Environmental Affairs organization within its Engineering Center for Environmentally Conscious Products. She then served as the Environmental, Health, and Safety Risk Manager at MIT before joining Lenovo in 2006. Her commitment to building more sustainable organizations has been the touchstone of her career.

Mary earned a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and Policy and a Master of Environmental Management in Resource Economics and Policy, both from Duke University.

Tyler joins the RBA as an independent special adviser to the board of directors and senior management with over with 20 years of senior-level experience in sustainability, supply chains, human rights, stakeholder engagement and public policy. He was the Head of Due Diligence in the OECD’s Centre for Responsible Business Conduct, where he built and led the team that worked with governments and stakeholders to negotiate the OECD’s international standards for responsible business conduct. Tyler has worked with policymakers to design regulation on conflict minerals, modern slavery, deforestation, sustainability reporting and responsible supply chains. He and his team at the OECD also worked closely with business, trade unions and civil society to strengthen the alignment of industry and multi-stakeholder initiatives and the overall effectiveness of market-based mechanisms on sustainability in global supply chains.

Chris has 20 years-plus experience working in sustainability and is part of the ESG team, with a dedicated focus on working with Dell’s customers and partners to leverage its technology and decarbonize their organizations.

Previously, he led social and environmental assurance for Dell’s supply chain, partnering with global suppliers to drive standards, undertake due diligence, and build capabilities. Gartner, Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs (China) and Responsible Business Alliance recognized programs managed by the team. He also maintains an active role on European trade associations, including DIGITALEUROPE and AmCham.

Prior to Dell, Chris held national and international sustainability leadership roles with Lafarge (latterly Holcim) with the organization’s strong performance recognized by World Business Council for Sustainable Development, Dow Jones Sustainability Initiative and Business in the Community (UK).

He is an economics graduate from University of Exeter, UK and lives in Ireland with his family.
